Let’s pour a glass of bubbly and DREAM.

— Sheila Kristinnson - Owner

My Mission

I am Sheila, Owner and Lead planner of Inspired Elegance Events. Mama, lover of all things bubbly and certified wedding and event planner.

Inspired Elegance Events gives me the ability to say yes to the people and events I really want to spend time with. I get to live my dream and show my daughters that you can merge passion and career.

I truly believe that the best events draw inspiration from you. They mix style and substance to create experiences for all in attendance. Wedding planning is more than throwing a party, it’s about creating and nourishing life long memories for you and your loved ones.

My Values

I am a communicator and always strive for clear, concise and honest interactions. I approach every situation with grace, with the drive and desire to rise to challenges and problem solve any angle. I believe that integrity and a strong work ethic will help you achieve your dreams.

Community and collaboration are what this company was built on, they create magic. Since I started Inspired Elegance Events I can tell you that most of the weddings I book are referral based – from previous clients, their family members and from recommendations from fellow vendors. This is the highest praise there is.

Being generous with my time, not just for my clients or my family, but for my community. I have had the pleasure of serving on the Pride Winnipeg board and also on the committee for Variety’s Mother’s Day Brunch.

My Credentials

I have been working in the event management industry for over 14 years, beginning in Ottawa and now serving clients in Winnipeg. I have worked as the Wedding & Events Coordinator for several of Winnipeg’s most well-respected, high end venues before establishing Inspired Elegance Events, which gives me a unique perspective into how different weddings and events come together from inception to completion. Having studied event management, I am also fully certified through the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada and educated through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.

MY Fav place to Visit

I spent almost 5 years in and out of South East Asia and Thailand will always have my whole heart. I would drop everything and move tomorrow if I could.

My bucket list destinations are Morocco, San Francisco, Costa Rica + Spain.

FAV READ

The one book that I have read over and over again is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coehlo. I have read it in multiple countries, at many ages and stages of life and always discover something new in the book that seems to apply to where I am at.

Notable reads these days include “Unreasonable Hospitality” by Will Guidara and “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by VE Schwab.

FavoUrite WINES

I am a seasonal sipper. So you’ll never catch me drinking a rosè if it’s below 15 degrees out!

Summer - my go to rosè is Paul Mas “Les Jardins”

Winter - it has to be the E. Guigal Cotes du Rhone

To Celebrate - Laurent Perrier’s Cuvee Brut Rosé Champagne

Things I love…

I love ticking off “To Do” lists – both personally and professionally

Sitting or lying in the sun

Cheese – especially Manchego

A beautiful sparkling wine

Camping weekends (and we do it old school with a tent!)

Hiking

Meal planning and sharing recipes

Som Tam (Thai Green Papaya Salad) with sticky rice
